RHP Anthony Reyes set a team record at Double-A Tennessee with 15 strikeouts Monday.
In the same game, he tied a Southern League record by fanning eight in a row. Reyes was a 15th-round selection in 2003 out of USC. This performance should get him a little more attention in a Cardinal farm system without a bunch of marquee names.

Anthony Reyes made his major league debut tonight and picked up the win after limiting the Brewers to two runs on two hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.
Reyes was excellent tonight, walking just one and striking out five while needing 76 pitches to retire 19 batters. Both runs scored on a Bill Hall homer in the second inning. Unfortunately, he’ll be sent back to the minors tomorrow. Reyes could have real value if he stays healthy and the Cardinals turn to him next season.

Cardinals optioned RHP Anthony Reyes to Triple-A Memphis.
Reyes may get another start or two for the Cardinals down the stretch, but the Cardinals are hopeful they won’t truly need him until next year.

Cardinals purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Reyes from Triple-A Memphis.
Reyes is making his major league debut tonight against the Brewers.

Anthony Reyes will be called up to make a spot start tomorrow against the Brewers.
Everyone in the rotation will be pushed back a day. Reyes is expected to head right back to Triple-A after receiving the start. He’ll return in September, but it will take an injury to make him worth using in NL-only leagues.

When the Cardinals promote Anthony Reyes today, someone is going to be sent down.
It looks like it will either be Scott Seabol or John Gall, temporarily leaving the Cards with only four bench players.

Anthony Reyes fanned 15 in seven scoreless innings Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.
Now that he has major league experience, Triple-A isn’t going to be a problem for Reyes. Both hits he gave up were singles and he didn’t walk anyone.

The Cardinals reportedly offered top pitching prospect Anthony Reyes, amongst others, to the Marlins in exchange for Dontrelle Willis.
The Marlins declined the deal and maintain that Willis isn’t available to be traded.

Anthony Reyes worked five innings and gave up three runs Saturday in a win over the Brewers.
Reyes isn’t getting lit up, but he hasn’t been nearly as impressive as hoped while filling in for Mark Mulder. In his last seven starts, he’s completed six innings just once, that being in a loss to the Cubs last week. If he doesn’t improve, he could be bumped once Mulder is ready to return later this month.

Anthony Reyes was available out of the pen on Tuesday night after having his start pushed back from Friday to Saturday.
Chris Carpenter has been moved ahead of him in the rotation.
