Davis Martin yielded four hits over six innings in the White Sox’s 3-0 shutout of the Blue Jays on Sunday.

He got through six despite throwing 64 pitches in his first three innings. The Blue Jays then made their next nine outs on just 24 pitches. Martin struck out six and walked two in moving to 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA. There’s not much here to be excited about for fantasy purposes — he’s allowed hard-hit balls on 59% of his balls in play — but he’ll probably remain solid enough for the White Sox. He’ll get the Royals next,
Chris Murphy

Chris Murphy notched his second career save with a scoreless ninth inning Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Seranthony Domínguez and Grant Taylor were unavailable after pitching the previous two days, so Murphy got the call in spite of having allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings to begin the year. He began the ninth by walking Kazuma Okamoto, but he then retired three in a row to protect a 3-0 lead. Murphy’s previous save was of the three-inning variety while with the Red Sox in 2023.

Luisangel Acuña went 2-for-4 and stole his fourth base of the year Sunday against the Blue Jays.

The White Sox are now up to three position players on the IL, so playing time hasn’t been an issue for Acuña. We wouldn’t expect much in the other categories, but he might make a run at 40 steals if he starts 130+ games.
Tanner Murray

White Sox recalled INF Tanner Murray from Triple-A Charlotte.

Murray got off to a strong start at Triple-A Charlotte, slashing .304/.467/.609 with a pair of homers, seven RBI, two stolen bases and a 7/6 K/BB ratio in his first 30 plate appearances. It’ll be interesting to see if he can carve out any sort of real role in his first taste of MLB action.
Everson Pereira

CWS Center Fielder #28

White Sox placed OF Everson Pereira on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 2, with a left ankle sprain.

The 24-year-old outfielder suffered the injury during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. They White Sox tried to take it day-to-day but ultimately felt it was best to sit him down and let it heal rather than playing shorthanded any longer. Tanner Murray was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place on the active roster.
Munetaka Murakami

CWS 3rd Baseman #5

Munetaka Murakami went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in the White Sox’ 6-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Murakami brought the first run of the game home on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. With a runner on in the sixth, he gave the White Sox the lead with a two-run blast off Brendon Little, a 431-foot shot at 111 mph off the bat. The 26-year-old slugger is already up to four homers early in his MLB career. That power has come while striking out in roughly a third of his plate appearances so far.
Colson Montgomery

Colson Montgomery went 1-for-3 with a solo homer against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Montgomery drew a walk in the fourth inning, then extended the White Sox lead with a solo homer off Brendon Little in the sixth, just getting over the right field wall at 348 feet, 92.9. mph off the bat. We’ll still take those. The 24-year-old shortstop is 6-for-29 with six RBI and a steal while striking out 11 times in the early going.
Seranthony Domínguez

Seranthony Domíguez worked a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to record the save against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Domíguez was summoned in the ninth inning with a three-run lead to close it out against the Blue Jays. He worked around a walk and a broken-bat single, striking out one batter to shut the door on Toronto for his first save of the season.
Anthony Kay

CWS Relief Pitcher #18

Anthony Kay allowed two runs with no strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Kay took over for Grant Taylor in the second inning for the piggyback start. He held the Blue Jays off the board over four innings, despite zero strikeouts, before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. took him deep for a two-run blast in the sixth. Kay then recorded the first out in the inning and departed at 76 pitches. The 31-year-old left-hander will make his next outing, either starting or in the bulk role, Thursday against the Royals in Kansas City. He’s not a recommendation for fantasy purposes, given the low strikeout upside.
Grant Taylor

CWS Relief Pitcher #31

Grant Taylor tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout as the opener against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Taylor operated as the opener for the White Sox for the second consecutive game. He recorded two quick outs on two pitches, then struck out Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to end the opening frame. Anthony Kay then took over in the second inning. Taylor was thought to be a potential stash for saves, but pitching as an opener won’t put him in line for either saves or wins.
