Bostick has hit .256/.360/.326 over 43 at-bats in cups of coffee with the Pirates and Marlins the last two years, and he’s a lifetime .275/.337/.391 hitter in 284 games in Triple-A. He’d probably make for a decent utilityman if he were a legitimate shortstop option, but he’s more of a second baseman/outfielder.

The Pirates acquired Bostick from the Nationals after he was designated for assignment last September, and he was 6-for-21 with seven walks this spring. Unfortunately, his best position is second base and the Pirates have four options ahead of him there right now.
