Athletics pitching prospect Chris Kohler scattered two hits over five shutout frames Monday in a win for Low-A Vermont.
The win was Kohler’s first of the season. Monday was only the left-hander’s second start since coming back from Tommy John surgery. So far, Kohler has held opponents to a .222 average in 36 at-bats. He’s posted 10 strikeouts with one walk over that stretch. The 20-year-old was Oakland’s third-round pick in 2013.
