Chris Narveson has been placed on Double-A Tennessee’s disabled list with shoulder tendinitis.
Narveson, the club’s top pitching prospect, is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA since joining the Smokies a five weeks ago. He’s only expected to miss one or two starts.

Red Sox designated LHP Chris Narveson for assignment.
Tim Bausher would have been our choice to go first, but neither player figured to last the winter on the 40-man roster. Narveson, who was acquired from the Rockies for Byung-Hyun Kim in March, was 4-5 with a 4.77 ERA, 109 H and 66/46 K/BB in 111 1/3 IP for Triple-A Pawtucket. He’s a lefty with a decent arm, so it’d be a little surprising to see him clear waivers.

Cardinals claimed LHP Chris Narverson off waivers from the Red Sox.
Narveson, who was traded to the Rockies for Larry Walker last August and the Red Sox for Byung-Hyun Kim this spring, is back with his original organization. He still has some potential as a starting pitcher, but he’s in the midst of a second straight disappointing season.

Chris Narveson, returning from a shoulder strain, pitched four scoreless innings for Single-A Palm Beach on Saturday.
Narveson will pitch at Triple-A Memphis once his rehab is complete. He’s not very likely to see time in the majors this season.

Chris Narveson allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks in just four innings on Monday, falling to 10-8 in Milwaukee’s loss to the Cubs.
Narveson tallied just one strikeout in his third shortest start of the season. The owner of a 4.40 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 121/60 K/BB through 155 1/3 innings, Narveson has served the Brewers well as a fifth starter this year, but should be limited to mop-up duty during the postseason.

Chris Narveson moved to 11-8 Sunday, holding the Marlins to four runs on five hits and five walks over 6 1/3 innings in a 9-5 win.
He struck out five and allowed a pair of solo homers. Narveson has often been hit-or-miss this season, but with a 4.45 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 30 games -- 28 starts -- he’s been pretty solid as far as No. 5 starters go. He’ll be used as a long man in the playoffs.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #49
Chris Narveson was able to spin 3 2/3 shutout innings against the Padres Thursday despite allowing three walks and two hits.
He struck out a pair. Narveson wasn’t efficient but in the end got the job done and now boasts a 0.96 ERA through his first three outings this spring. He’s slated to again serve as the No. 5 starter in Milwaukee this season.

Chris Narveson underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair the labrum and rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder.
Narveson will need nine months to recover, so he will miss the rest of the season and possibly the early part of spring training next year. The 30-year-old southpaw has made 28 starts for the Brewers in each of the past two seasons and will be arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.

Brewers transferred LHP Chris Narveson from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Narveson will undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder. He’s out for the season. The 30-year-old southpaw allowed seven earned runs, four walks and 10 hits in nine innings this year for the Brewers.

Chris Narveson struggled through four innings against the Dodgers Tuesday, permitting three runs on seven hits and a walk.
He failed to record a strikeout and allowed three extra-base hits. Narveson had pitched well this spring up until this outing, though he’s managed just five punchouts over 13 1/3 innings. He’ll once again hold down the final spot in the Brewers rotation this season.
