Robertson had been out since May 22 with a fractured thumb. He could rejoin Oakland’s pen next week.

Robertson suffered a fractured right thumb not long after making his major league debut in May, and the A’s left him in the minors for the rest of the year after he got healthy. Poor command could prevent him from having a career in middle relief.

Robertson is likely to miss at least a month, and he’ll probably be optioned back to Triple-A once healthy.

Robertson was hit by a line drive Monday and X-rays taken Wednesday showed the break. He’ll become the 11th A’s player currently on the DL, which is amazing.

Robertson could rejoin Oakland’s bullpen next month.

Maybe Arizona figured there wouldn’t be quite so much pressure on Haren if it was a 6-for-2 deal, rather than a 6-for-1. Robertson, a 26-year-old who made his major league debut in May, cleared waivers and was removed from Oakland’s 40-man roster earlier this winter. He’ll receive an invitation to spring training, but he shouldn’t be a candidate to make the Diamondbacks as a reliever.

The Mets made a slew of roster moves Monday and they needed a roster spot in order to accommodate them all.

Robertson allowed one run in four innings during his brief stay with Arizona.

Robertson, the second player the Diamondbacks picked up along with Dan Haren in the December trade with the A’s, had a 3.86 ERA in 53 2/3 innings as a reliever for Tucson. He’ll handle mop-up duties.

He takes the bullpen spot of Juan Cruz, who was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a strained oblique. Robertson is the second player the Diamondbacks received in the offseason deal for Dan Haren and had a 3.86 ERA with a 50/21 K/BB ratio in 53 2/3 innings at Triple-A.
