Colina

Colina was scooped up off waivers from the Twins in early October and will remain with the Rangers as organizational pitching depth moving forward. The 24-year-old righty represents a savvy long-term gamble for the rebuilding organization after he missed the entire 2021 campaign due to right elbow debridement surgery last May.

Colina missed the 2021 season with a right elbow issue and was claimed off waivers from the Twins in October.

Colin had been on the 60-day injured list for Minnesota after missing the entire 2021 season due to a right elbow issue, and he’ll now move to the 60-day IL in Texas. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed three runs on four hits while recording only one out in his lone MLB appearance back in September 2020.

Colina has been out all season due to a lingering elbow issue and will now be in full-on shutdown mode for at least a couple of months. The 24-year-old seems doubtful to pitch in a game for the Twins in 2021.

Colina developed some elbow inflammation this spring in camp and the Twins obviously feel that he is not going to be ready anytime soon. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut last September.

The 23-year-old made just one forgettable appearance for the Twins, allowing three runs on four hits in 1/3 of an inning. It does not appear that he’ll be an option to make their bullpen for the postseason.

Colina, 23, held a 2.96 ERA and 102/32 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings across three levels last season. The Twins are going to see if the hard-throwing right-hander might be able to help out in a relief role during the postseason.
