Eude Brito was scratched from his last start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and is on his way to the majors.
Brito, who turns 27 this month, will be making his major league debut after going 6-2 with a 4.85 ERA in 15 starts and 13 relief appearances for the Red Barons. We assume he’ll be used in middle relief.

Phillies recalled LHP Eude Brito from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Brito will be a long man for now and he could move into the rotation should the Phillies lose a starting pitcher. He’s unlikely to ever have much in the way of fantasy value, but he’s still worth watching in NL-only leagues. It might take hitters some time to figure him out.

Rookie Eude Brito has not seen any action since being recalled on August 5, but that’s about to change.
It looks like he could start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Due to Tuesday’s rainout and today’s doubleheader, the team needs a starter for the series finale. Jon Lieber only threw 70 pitches last night, but it’s doubtful that he’ll start Sunday, likely leaving the job to Brito.

Eude Brito will make his major-league debut today against the Pirates.
Brito was 6-1 with a 3.47 ERA in 15 starts at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but he has not pitched since July 30, a span of three weeks. ''That’s a long time, but I don’t want to put negative thoughts in my mind,’' Brito said. ''I’m confident I’m going to make quality pitches and get guys out.’' That could be tough after such a long layoff.

Phillies recalled LHP Eude Brito from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Brito will start in place of Jon Lieber on Saturday, and now that Gavin Floyd has been demoted, he should remain in the rotation until Lieber returns in two or three weeks. NL-only leaguers should keep an eye on him. He was a pleasant surprise when he was needed as a starter last year.

Eude Brito gave up six runs in four innings to lose to the Dodgers Saturday in his first start in the majors this season.
Brito gave up nine hits, walked two and struck out one. He’ll likely get one more start next week, but if he struggles again, the Phillies could try someone else as a replacement for the injured Jon Lieber. Clay Condrey would be a candidate.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher
Eude Brito lost his second straight start since joining the Phillies after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings Thursday against the Nationals.
Awful command from Brito. He walked three, hit a batter and threw two wild pitches. The Phillies may send him down and try someone else as a fifth starter until Jon Lieber returns. Clay Condrey would seem to be the leading candidate.

Phillies optioned LHP Eude Brito to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Brito had a 10.38 ERA in his two starts while filling in for Jon Lieber. The Phillies will try someone else in that role next time through, perhaps Clay Condrey.

Eude Brito will start for the Phillies on Thursday.
Brito was shelled on Saturday. If he struggles on Thursday Ryan Franklin could take his spot in the rotation.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher
Eude Brito will be recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start for Jon Lieber on Saturday.
Brito, who had a 3.68 ERA in five starts and a relief appearance for the Phillies last season, may make just the one start before Cole Hamels returns. If he’s outstanding against the Dodgers, then maybe he could overtake Gavin Floyd to become the club’s fifth starter. He’s a long shot to have fantasy value, though.
