Blue Jays recalled LHP Evan Crawford from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Coming off a strong spring, Crawford’s first MLB go-round is expected to be extremely brief, as he’s simply taking Sergio Santos’ roster spot while he’s away for the birth of his child. If he gets into a game, it will be to face a lefty.

Blue Jays optioned LHP Evan Crawford and RHP Joel Carreno to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Carreno pitched well in a short stint with the Blue Jays last season and Crawford drew praise from manager John Farrell in camp, but neither did enough to crack the Opening Day roster. They should make it up at some point this season, though.

Crawford moved to the bullpen full-time in 2011 and had a nice year, boasting a 3.35 ERA and 62/21 K/BB ratio over 51 innings at New Hampshire. He also induces a good number of groundballs, giving him a shot to be a useful member of the Jays’ bullpen at some point.
