The Angels are set to acquire outfielder Exicardo Cayones and left-handed reliever Kramer Sneed from the Yankees in the Vernon Wells deal.
Neither player is considered a top prospect, as the main objective for the Angels was to get the Yankees to cover some of Wells’ remaining contract. Cayones, who came over to the Yankees in the A.J. Burnett deal, batted .228/.374/.291 in Low-A ball last season. Sneed, 24, posted a 5.37 ERA in 63 2/3 innings in High-A in 2012.
