Flaa has been jettisoned from the Braves 40-man roster, so it appears that the organization is poised to make a move in the coming days to add some additional rotation or outfield depth after losing Ian Anderson and Ronald Acuña Jr. to injuries in their final series before the All-Star break.

The Braves have called up outfielder Abraham Almonte to take his spot on the roster. Flaa was just recently claimed off waivers and allowed four runs over 1 1/3 innings in his lone appearance against the Mets on Saturday.

The Braves claimed the right-hander off waivers from the Orioles on May 11 after he tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in his major league debut in April. Flaa should operate as bullpen depth for Atlanta.

Flaa was designated for assignment by the Braves over the weekend. The 28-year-old right-hander threw 1 1/3 scoreless frames in his major-league debut last month. He’s a possible bullpen option for Atlanta.

The Orioles needed to clear a 40-man roster spot after claiming left-hander Brandon Waddell from the Twins, so Flaa became the odd man out. The 28-year-old righty threw 1 1/3 scoreless frames in his major-league debut last month.

Flaa pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief on Tuesday night against the Yankees, but he gets the boot to clear out a roster spot for Dean Kremer, who is scheduled to start Wednesday versus New York.

Flaa, 28, held a 4.69 ERA and 71/32 K/BB ratio over 71 innings between Double- and Triple-A in 2019. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
