    Martinez, 31, posted a 5.82 ERA over parts of four seasons with four different teams. He had been with the Angels’ Triple-A affiliate, where he was hammered for 23 runs -- 20 earned -- over 11 innings.

    Martinez was hit above his right eye by a liner off the bat of Mike Cameron. He was down for a couple of minutes and was clearly bleeding, but he was able to walk off under his own power. Hopefully, he’s just day-to-day.
