Cáceres made two relief appearances for the Halos back in 2023 and missed all of last season due to a right lat strain. The 25-year-old righty will open the regular season back at Triple-A Salt Lake as extra organizational relief depth.

Cáceres is removed from the 40-man roster after the Angels needed room for Michael Peterson. Cáceres now hits the waiver wire, and the 25-year-old right-hander could see interest on the market based on his ability to miss bats in the minors.

Caceres made his big-league debut last year for the Angels, making a pair of late-September relief appearances. The 24-year-old righty will open the season back in the upper minors, but figures to be up rather quickly.

Caceres receives his first promotion to the big leagues after posting a 4.12 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 85/32 K/BB ratio across 54 2/3 innings (52 appearances) this season across three minor league levels.
