Angels RHP prospect Landon Marceaux allowed just two unearned runs over seven innings on Wednesday for High-A Tri-City.
Marceaux scattered four hits, and walked one with six strikeouts. The right-hander has enjoyed a solid first professional season with the Dust Devils, and improves his K/BB ratio to 54/13 with a 3.23 ERA over 64 innings in 13 starts. A third-round pick out of LSU, Marceaux doesn’t have an obvious out pitch, but there are three above-average secondary offerings that help a low 90s fastball play up, as does his ability to command those four pitches. He’s more high-ceiling than high-floor, but it’s easy to see Marceaux being a solid -- if unspectacular -- part of a rotation.
