    Mason Thompson elected free agency.
Thompson will choose to hit the free market after clearing waivers and being sent outright by the Nationals to Triple-A Rochester. The 27-year-old had an 11.81 ERA in his 10 2/3 innings with Washington this year, and profiles as org depth at this stage of his career.

Nationals placed RHP Mason Thompson on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Sept. 20, with right biceps tendinitis.
Thompson, who returned from Tommy John surgery in July, will finish the year back on the injured list. He had an 11.81 ERA and an 11/12 K/BB in 10 2/3 innings for the Nationals. Most likely, he’ll be dropped from the 40-man after the season.

Nationals recalled RHP Mason Thompson from Triple-A Rochester.
Thompson returns to the majors as extra relief depth for the Nationals with ace MacKenzie Gore landing on the shelf with a shoulder injury. The 27-year-old righty made a handful of appearances last month in his return from last year’s Tommy John surgery before being shipped to the minors.

Nationals optioned RHP Mason Thompson to Triple-A Rochester.
Thompson had given up six runs and walked six in four innings since returning from Tommy John surgery earlier this month. The Nats will give him some more minor league time and hope he’s throwing better when he’ll probably be needed next month.

Nationals activated RHP Mason Thompson from the 60-day injured list.
Thompson is finally ready to return to Washington’s relief corps after missing the last year and a half recovering from Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old righty figures to operate in low-leverage middle relief situations for the Nationals.

Mason Thompson (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday.
The 27-year-old hurler is working his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent last February. He’s obviously going to require a lengthy build up, which will begin with the club’s Florida Complex League affiliate on Saturday. As long as he avoids any setbacks, he could be ready to return at some point around the All-Star break.

Nationals placed RHP Mason Thompson on the 60-day injured list following elbow surgery.
Thompson underwent Tommy John surgery in early March. He was hoping to make it back closer to the beginning of the season, but since the Nationals wanted his 40-man roster spot, he’ll remain sidelined until late May at least.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters on Friday that Mason Thompson (elbow) has yet to throw off of a mound.
The 26-year-old right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery last spring. While he has completed most of his rehab program already, the Nationals are erring on the side of caution and bringing him along slowly. “We’re going to play a lot more long toss with him right now, get him comfortable throwing flat grounds and then we’ll move him to the bullpen,” Martinez added. “I don’t want to put a date on it, but probably a couple weeks.” It’s possible that he could still be ready for the start of the season, but that window is shrinking.

Nationals and RHP Mason Thompson avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.
No word yet on the finances of the deal. Thompson, 26, missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Before the operation though, he was a mainstay in the club’s bullpen and they’re hopeful that he’ll return to that role at some point during the 2025 season.

Nationals placed RHP Mason Thompson on the 60-day injured list.
The move was expected, as the 26-year-old will miss the entire 2024 season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Thompson has been a mainstay in the Nationals bullpen the last couple of seasons, posting a 3.66 ERA before landing on the injured list last June.
