Josh Outman has made the Rockies’ Opening Day roster as a reliever.
Outman, who was acquired from the Athletics in the Seth Smith deal, had a 3.70 ERA and 35/23 K/BB ratio over 58 1/3 innings last season. The 27-year-old southpaw has always had good stuff, so he could be a useful arm out of the bullpen. It will be interesting to see whether the Rockies also decide to carry fellow left-hander Matt Reynolds.

Diamondbacks acquired LHP Matt Reynolds from the Rockies for RHP Ryan Wheeler.
Reynolds, 28, posted a 4.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 51/17 K/BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings this past season for the Rockies. He’ll serve as a lefty reliever for Arizona.

Diamondbacks placed LHP Matt Reynolds on the 15-day disabled list with a left elbow strain.
Reynolds struggled in his last two appearances, and perhaps now we know why. It’s not clear at this point how long he’ll be sidelined. It’s a blow to the Arizona bullpen, as the lefty boasts a 1.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP this season.

Matt Reynolds has been diagnosed with a slight tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.
Reynolds will receive a second opinion, but the plan for now is to shut him down for six weeks before he can hopefully begin a throwing program. Of course, anytime the UCL is compromised, the possibility of Tommy John surgery is there. Either way, it’s unfortunate for the D’Backs bullpen, as Reynolds holds a 1.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP this season.

Matt Reynolds nailed down his second save of the season with a scoreless 10th inning in Wednesday’s win over the Giants.
David Hernandez got the save chance in the ninth with J.J. Putz having the day off, but he allowed a game-tying homer. Manager Kirk Gibson then went to Reynolds, who converted his second save in as many days. The lefty has yet to allow a run this season and looks to be third in line for saves in Arizona.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) could return to the Diamondbacks before the end of the 2013 season.
Reynolds is currently shelved with a slight tear in his UCL and was initially expected to miss the remainder of the season. The team won’t rush him back into action, but he’s already thrown a handful of bullpen sessions and could be cleared to return in late September.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) felt renewed pain during Thursday’s side session and will visit a doctor to get checked out again.
Reynolds had recently hoped to return before the end of the 2013 season, but this setback should completely rule out that possibility. He’s been sidelined since June 9 with a slight tear in his UCL.

Matt Reynolds will undergo Tommy John surgery next Tuesday.
Reynolds has been rehabbing a slight tear in his UCL for the past couple of months and recently suffered a setback. He’s now at risk for missing the entire 2014 season.

Matt Reynolds (elbow) is scheduled to throw Wednesday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list.
Reynolds has been shut down for six weeks due to a slight tear in the ulnar collateral ligament of his left elbow. He’ll start out by playing catch and will build up his workload as long as there are no setbacks, which is obviously no guarantee. The 28-year-old southpaw had a 1.98 ERA in 30 appearances prior to the injury.

Diamondbacks transferred LHP Matt Reynolds from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Chris Owings. Reynolds has already missed nearly two months with a slight UCL tear, so this doesn’t affect his timetable. It’s possible he’ll return late in the year, but it’s more likely that he’ll be out until spring training.
