Viloria signed a minor league contract with the Orioles back in late June and never wound up making it back to the big leagues. The 26-year-old backstop got into 10 games this season for the Guardians before being cut loose back in early May. He should be able to latch on somewhere this offseason, but will likely have to settle for a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The 26-year-old backstop was released by the Angels in early June. He has hit just .167/.265/.333 in 34 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season and went 0-for-3 in his brief time with the Guardians. He’ll add catching depth for the O’s.

The Angels’ catching depth has been decimated by injuries this season with Max Stassi (hip), Logan O’Hoppe (shoulder) and Chad Wallach (concussion) currently on the shelf. Viloria elected free agency earlier this week after being designated for assignment by Cleveland and will head to Triple-A Salt Lake as an emergency catching option for Los Angeles.

Viloria went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week by the Guardians and has opted to test the free agent waters rather than accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Columbus. The 26-year-old backstop got into just 10 games this season for Cleveland. He shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a new opportunity.

Viloria was added to Cleveland’s 40-man roster in late March and wound up appearing in just 10 games this season. The 26-year-old backstop has a decent shot at making it through waivers unclaimed.

The Guardians have opted to carry three catchers on their Opening Day roster with Viloria getting the final spot. He signed a minor league contract last December with Cleveland.

Viloria signed a minor league pact with the Guardians back in December and figures to open the regular season as extra organizational catching depth at Triple-A Columbus.

Viloria played in 26 games for the Rangers last year slashing .159/.280/.270 with two homers. He was more productive for their Triple-A affiliate, hitting .280/.422/.440 across 218 plate appearances. Viloria is still just 25 years old and will give the Guardians organization depth at catcher.

This comes after he was claimed off waivers eight days ago and designated for assignment three days ago. Viloria is still just 25, and he was surprisingly productive for the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate last season, hitting .280/.422/.440 in 218 plate appearances. He’ll get a chance to compete for a backup job somewhere.
