Bryce Harper is not in the starting lineup for the Nationals for their game against the Padres on Wednesday.
It’s the first day off of the season for Harper, who is currently marred in an 0-for-19 slump. Michael Taylor moves up to the leadoff spot, and Moises Sierra will play right field with Harper on the bench. Even with the struggles, Harper stil has a .410 on-base percentage and a .541 slugging percentage to go along with his 12 homers and 28 runs batted in.

Blue Jays optioned OF Moises Sierra to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Sierra, 23, batted .277/.342/.436 with 18 homers, 67 RBI and a .778 OPS over 133 games with Double-A New Hampshire last year. While he also stole 16 bases, he was caught 14 times. Baseball America ranked him as the organization’s No. 15 prospect during the offseason.

Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reports that the Blue Jays will call up Moises Sierra on Tuesday and option Joel Carreno and Evan Crawford to the minors.
The moves would also open up a roster spot for newly-acquired Steve Delabar. Baseball America ranked Sierra as the organization’s No. 15 prospect during the offseason. The 23-year-old has posted a nice .289/.360/.472 slash line with 17 homers in 422 plate appearances for Triple-A Las Vegas. He also has decent wheels and could become relevant in deeper AL-only leagues as a reserve outfielder for the Jays.

Blue Jays recalled OF Moises Sierra from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Sierra, 23, was hitting .289/.360/.472 with 17 homers and an .832 OPS in 100 games this season with Triple-A Las Vegas. He doesn’t have much patience and isn’t a big threat to steal bases. The Jays will likely use him against left-handed pitching, so he isn’t worth a look outside of deeper AL-only formats.

Moises Sierra hit a two-run homer on Thursday, accounting for all of Toronto’s offense in a loss to the White Sox.
Sierra finished the evening 1-for-3. His two-run blast off Francisco Liriano in the second inning gave the Jays an early 2-0 lead, but they were unable to push any other runs across in the game. Sierra hs been very productive through his first 39 at-bats, hitting .359 with two homers, five RBI and a stolen base. He stands to lose playing time when Jose Bautista returns to the lineup, but the 23-year-old is worth a look as a fourth or fifth outfielder in deeper fantasy formats until that point.

Moises Sierra launched his first major league home run in Monday’s win over the White Sox.
Sierra’s solo shot in the seventh inning put the Blue Jays ahead before they eventually won in extras. He also added a single and a walk. The 23-year-old has started each of the last three games and five of the last seven in right field. He’s worthy of AL-only consideration.

Moises Sierra left Saturday’s game against the Twins with lower back tightness.
Sierra was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored before exiting. The injury is thought to be day-to-day. Rajai Davis replaced him in the lineup.

Moises Sierra (back) finished 0-for-4 in his return to the Blue Jays’ lineup on Sunday.
Sierra left Saturday’s game against the Twins with lower back tightness. It was never a serious concern.

Moises Sierra went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored against the Angels on Wednesday.
Sierra fell just a home run shy of the cycle, notching a single, double and his first triple of the season. The stolen base was also his first this year. The 24-year-old is hitting .291/.344/.545 through 55 at-bats, and with Jose Bautista done for the season he should see plenty of playing time down the stretch.

Moises Sierra left Tuesday’s game against the Orioles with an apparent left foot injury.
Sierra began limping after making a catch on the warning track and was eventually removed. The Blue Jays should provide an update on his status before long.
