2010 projected leaders: Home runs

Over the next several days, I’ll be dipping into my 2010 projections and presenting some leaderboards. 1. Ryan Howard - 47 2. Prince Fielder - 42 3. Albert Pujols - 41 3. Mark Teixeira - 41 5. Miguel Cabrera - 39 5. Alex Rodriguez - 39 7. Ryan Braun - 38 7. Adrian Gonzalez - 38 9. Adam Dunn - 37 9. Mark Reynolds - 37 11. Evan Longoria - 35 12. Carlos Pena - 33 13. Jason Bay - 32 13. Jay Bruce - 32 13. Alfonso Soriano - 32 It’s a list dominated by first basemen. Pujols led the majors in homers with 47 last year, followed by Fielder at 46, Howard at 45 and Reynolds at 44. No American Leaguer hit 40, though Teixeira and Pena came up just short at 39 apiece. I don’t have any middle infielders hitting 30 homers, though Marlins teammates Dan Uggla (29) and Hanley Ramirez (28) are close. The top catchers on the list are Joe Mauer (24) and Brian McCann (23).
