FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal hears that we can add another name to the long list of candidates under consideration for a top front office job with the Angels...

Byrnes has previously been the general manager with the Diamondbacks and Padres. He was hired as part of the Dodgers’ new front office last November.

According to Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com, the Angels are also considering Yankees assistant GM Billy Eppler, Blue Jays assistant GM Tony LaCava and Indians VP of player personnel Ross Atkins as well as internal candidates Hal Morris, Matt Klentak and Scott Servais. Mike Hazen was interviewed before being hired as Red Sox general manager this week. Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Angels would prefer to hire one executive as opposed to bringing aboard both a new general manager and another front office executive like a team president.

Bill Stoneman has been serving as general manager since Jerry DiPoto resigned back on July 1.
