The Blue Jays have placed third baseman Josh Donaldson on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

Donaldson has been fighting a bum shoulder since spring training, and it’s impacted his ability to throw. He recently underwent additional tests, which showed no new injury and no structural damage. The Jays say, though, that Donaldson’s throwing ability “has not improved to his desired level.” Yangervis Solarte will handle third base while Donaldson is out.

Donaldson is 11-for-46 with three homers on the year.
