The Braves announced on Tuesday afternoon that the club has placed outfielder Matt Kemp on the 10-day disabled list -- retroactive to April 8 -- with a strained right hamstring. Infielder Johan Carmargo has been called up from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Kemp suffered the injury on Friday against the Pirates after hitting a single in the sixth inning. The 32-year-old was off to a hot start, batting .500/.529/1.125 with four doubles, a pair of home runs, and four RBI in 17 plate appearances.

Emilio Bonifacio is starting for the Braves in left field against the Marlins on Tuesday night and figures to get most of the starts there while Kemp is out.
