There are a lot of minor league teams traveling in a lot of busses on any given night. One of those busses crashed at 3:45 this morning:
A bus carrying the Carolina Mudcats baseball team flipped onto its side in Columbus County [North Carolina] Tuesday morning.
According to Kay Worley, the Columbus County Emergency Services Director, the bus, from Abbott Bus Lines, Inc. out of Roanoke, Virginia, crashed around 3:45 a.m. on Clarendon Chadbourn Road.
There were 33 members of Mudcats, the high-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves in the Carolina League -- on board. Seven were injured though none appears to be serious. The Mudcats’ game scheduled for tonight in Myrtle Beach has been cancelled.
Thank goodness it wasn’t more serious.
