Dillon Gee won’t be pitching again this season, but Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that the Mets right-hander got “a clean bill of health” after undergoing an angiogram in St. Louis over the weekend.
Gee is six weeks removed from surgery to repair a damaged artery in his shoulder that was 96 percent blocked and told Rubin that the latest checkup “couldn’t have gone better.”
As of now he has no limitations in terms of throwing and working out, so barring a setback Gee is expected to be fully recovered and ready for spring training. And considering he’s pitched with numbness in his fingers since 2010 perhaps Gee will even return feeling stronger.
