Bench coach Bob Geren is leaving the Mets to take the same job with the Dodgers, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
Geren actually interviewed for the Dodgers’ managerial opening, but the team decided to go with rookie manager Dave Roberts instead and now Geren will serve as his experienced right-hand man.
Geren spent four seasons as the Mets’ bench coach and previously managed the A’s from 2007-2011. During that time Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi was part of the A’s front office.
