Mike Trout honors Kobe Bryant with spikes, batting gloves

One of baseball’s greats honored one of basketball’s greats. Angels outfielder Mike Trout paid tribute to Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who is playing in his final NBA game Wednesday night against the Jazz.

Per MLB.com’s Alden Gonzalez, prior to Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Athletics, Trout wore Nike cleats painted black and gold and batting gloves colored black, purple, and gold. As the cleats aren’t the Angels’ official colors, Trout had to change before the game began, but he was able to continue using the batting gloves.
