Myrtle Beach Pelicans GM Andy Milovich has come up with an interesting way to raise prostate cancer awareness

Well, this is a strange one, though it may prove to be a creative way to raise awareness for prostate cancer. ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that Andy Milovich, GM of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (the Single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers), has offered to have a prostate exam while singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” in front of an entire stadium of fans if the Facebook page of a 10-year-old cancer patient gets 10,000 likes by the start of Thursday’s game.

The Pelicans were already promoting prostate cancer awareness for Thursday’s game against the Frederick Keys with a foam finger giveaway to the first 1,000 fans to show up to the ballpark. Suffice it to say that Milovich’s stunt may encourage more fans to show up. We’ll certainly be talking about it and waiting for video -- or perhaps just audio only -- of the song performance.
