Two weeks ago the Reds revealed plans to have Aroldis Chapman stretch out his arm by working as a starter in winter ball, but before that they’ll send him to the Arizona Fall League.

Rarely do players with more than one full season in the majors participate in the AFL, but Chapman is attempting to transition to a new role and is still just 23 years old.

He’s expected to appear in three games before the end of the month and throw 2-3 innings in each outing, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. And if all goes well Chapman will be ready to take on a more typical starter workload by the time he gets to Puerto Rico.
