When you start Freddy Garcia in an elimination game, yeah, you might be interested in bringing back a starter you’ve had around for nine years and with whom you’re quite comfortable:

Frank Wren has provided strong indication he would like Tim Hudson back in the #Braves rotation next year.

Hudson will turn 39 next season and his 3.97 ERA and 97 ERA+ were his worst marks in those categories since 2006. Still, his strikeout, walk and hit rates were aligned with career norms. If he’s fully healed from his awful leg injury, he’ll be a welcome addition to the Braves’ rotation next season. Of course, since he’s a free agent, he may be a welcome addition to any number of other rotations next year.
