The Cubs recently acquired Rex Brothers from the Rockies. Today they decided what they’ll pay him for next season: $1.42 million.
Brothers, 27, was 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA last year in two distinct stints separated by an extended period in Triple-A where he went 5-2 with a 4.46 ERA. Overall he’s 16-11 with a 3.42 ERA in 286 appearances with Colorado over five seasons.
