The Reds sign reliever David Hernandez

The Cincinnati Reds have signed righty reliever David Hernandez to a two-year, $5 million contract.

Hernandez pitched with the Diamondbacks and Angels last season posting a 3.11 ERA and 52/9 K/BB ratio over 55 innings. Raisel Iglesias owns the closer’s role in Cincinnati, but Hernandez will get some high leverage spots. Or, at the very least, as high leverage as the Reds manage to find themselves in in 2018.
