Wendell Kim, a longtime big-league coach known as “Wave ‘Em In Wendell” during his time coaching third base, died Sunday at age 64 from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Kim coached 15 years in the majors for the Cubs, Giants, Red Sox, and Expos. Prior to that he played eight seasons in the minors for the Giants as a 5-foot-5 infielder with big on-base percentages.
