Braves placed OF Peter O’Brien on the 10-day injured list.
No details on an injury were given. O’Brien is a non-roster invite who is battling for a spot as a bench bat on the Opening Day roster for the Braves, but faced an uphill battle even before the placement on the IL.

Peter O’Brien his a pair of homers Wednesday in helping the Braves top the Pirates 9-7.
O’Brien has three homers in 18 at-bats this spring, though that’s not really anything new for him; he has 16 homers in 176 spring at-bats for four different teams the last four years. Making contact against major league pitchers is a huge problem for him and he doesn’t have any defensive value, so it’s likely that he’s destined to spend another year in Triple-A.

Peter O’Brien crushed a long solo home run as the Braves demolished the Rays in Grapefruit League play on Saturday.
O’Brien tagged Rays’ starter Yonny Chirinos for the solo shot leading off the second inning -- increasing the Braves’ lead to 4-0 at the time. It was hit lone hit in two at-bats on the day. For the spring, O’Brien is now hitting .273 (3-for-11) with a homer and two RBI.

Braves signed 1B/OF Peter O’Brien to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
O’Brien has always impressed with his power potential, but has struggled to a miserable .209/.275/.434 line with 11 homers, 26 RBI and a 73/16 K/BB ratio over 200 plate appearances during his big league career. He’ll face an uphill battle in trying to secure a bench spot on the Braves’ Opening Day roster.

Marlins sent 1B/OF Peter O’Brien outright to Triple-A New Orleans.
O’Brien was designated for assignment earlier in the week but passed through waivers unclaimed. The free-swinging slugger will continue to function as extra depth for the Marlins at the Triple-A level.

Marlins activated 1B/OF Peter O’Brien from the 10-day injured list; designated him for assignment.
O’Brien is recovered from the left rib cage contusion that sent him to the injured list back in early May, but the Marlins needed to clear out a 40-man roster spot for the arrival of top pitching prospect Zac Gallen.

Marlins placed 1B/OF Peter O’Brien on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 10, with a left ribcage contusion.
The 28-year-old slugger, like the rest of the Marlins’ offense, has been dreadful this season, slashing a mere .167/.255/.262 with one homer, four RBI and a 19/4 K/BB ratio across 47 plate appearances. He’ll miss at least a couple of weeks of action, though it shouldn’t matter much from a fantasy perspective outside of deep NL-only leagues.

Marlins recalled 1B/OF Peter O’Brien from Triple-A New Orleans.
O’Brien has hit just .206/.273/.441 in 68 games at the major league level. He’ll see some starts in right field but isn’t a desirable fantasy option.

Peter O’Brien went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs on Saturday as the Marlins fell to the Braves.
O’Brien opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run single off of Braves’ starter Mike Soroka in the second inning. Unfortunately for the Marlins, that would be the extent of their offense in the ballgame. O’Brien has had a rough go at the plate this season, slashing just .133/.235/.233 with one homer and four RBI in 33 plate appearances.

Marlins optioned 1B/OF Peter O’Brien to Triple-A New Orleans.
O’Brien went 3-for-27 with 14 strikeouts after being recalled shortly after Opening Day. Austin Dean has replaced him on the roster.
