Robinson Tejeda yielded two runs in five innings and struck out eight Dodgers in a no-decision tonight.
Another fine outing, although he remained stuck out three wins. The eight strikeouts were a career high. He pitches at Petco next, so there’s a good chance he’ll perform well again.

Robinson Tejeda got the win Sunday as he allowed one run and three hits in seven innings against the Padres.
It was the first time Tejeda pitched longer than six innings in his last 11 starts. Tejeda’s record improves to 3-2.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher
Robinson Tejeda lost for the first time since July 8 after giving up six runs in 3 2/3 innings tonight against the Pirates.
Because of his lack of command, Tejeda walks a fine line each time he takes the mound. He didn’t have it tonight, but he’s probably still worth using in NL-only leagues for his upcoming start against the Giants.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher
Triple-A Oklahoma’s Robinson Tejeda struck out 11 in seven scoreless innings Monday against Tucson.
The Sidewinders are missing Carlos Quentin, Stephen Drew and Alberto Callaspo, so throwing one-hit ball against them now isn’t as impressive as it would have been a month ago. Still, it was the kind of performance Tejeda needed to turn himself into a candidate for a callup. He’s 5-2 with a 3.24 ERA in 14 starts for Oklahoma.

Robinson Tejeda was removed after giving up five runs in 3 1/3 innings versus the Angels on Wednesday.
Tejeda fell to 1-2 in four starts. His ERA stands at 7.71. If the Rangers decide to return him to the minors, John Rheinecker figures to be next into the rotation.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher
Robinson Tejeda held the Tigers to one run and four hits over 6 2/3 innings to win on Saturday night.
The bullpen followed with 2 1/3 scoreless innings in a 3-1 win. Tejeda had walked 17 batters in 19 1/3 innings for the Rangers this season, but he issued just one free pass tonight. This could keep him in the majors for now, meaning that Scott Feldman would be sent down to make room for John Koronka on Sunday. He’s not yet worth picking up in AL-only leagues.

Rangers recalled RHP Robinson Tejeda from Triple-A Oklahoma.
Tejeda will start against the Tigers tonight. He could return to Triple-A prior to Sunday’s game.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher
Robinson Tejeda recorded his second straight win by limiting the Devil Rays to two runs in 7 2/3 innings of work tonight.
Tejeda walked two and yielded five hits. He departed with runners on first and second with two outs in the eighth, but reliever Wes Littleton induced a ground ball from B.J. Upton to end the rally. In the ninth, closer Akinori Otsuka turned a two-run lead into a one-run game and even put the tying run on second base, but a Russell Branyan strikeout ended the game to give Tejeda the win. Despite pitching well in his last two outings, we’re not recommending Tejeda against the Orioles next time out.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher
The Rangers will call up Robinson Tejeda to start Saturday against the Tigers.
He’ll likely be sent back down right after the game to make roon for John Koronka, Sunday’s scheduled starter. Tejeda is needed because Vicente Padilla is serving a five-game suspension.

Robinson Tejeda is scheduled to start Thursday against the Devil Rays.
The move was made to give Edinson Volquez an extra day for his blister to heal. Volquez is expected to start Friday against the A’s, with John Rheinecker likely subbing for him if the blister doesn’t allow him to pitch.
