Royals’ prospect Roscoe Crosby left extended spring training in Arizona this week with the intention to return to Clemson University.
The Royals regard Crosby’s departure as a decision to quit baseball, but his mother and agent indicated he merely wants to keep his options open. Crosby’s mother believes her son lacks focus since he’s had to answer so many questions about whether he will play football or baseball. Brian Peters, who serves as Crosby’s agent, indicated his client merely wanted to clarify his football eligibility.

Roscoe Crosby has fully recovered from Tommy John surgery and is set to arrive in minor league camp in a couple of days.
Crosby, a second-round pick in 2001, missed all of last season. The Royals are hopeful that the Clemson wide receiver will quit football to focus full-time on baseball this year.
