Sean Watson pitched six scoreless innings and struck out nine Tuesday for low Single-A Dayton.
Watson should be in line for a promotion. The 2006 second-round pick out of Tennessee is 5-2 with a 1.88 ERA, 58 H and 85/13 K/BB in 71 2/3 innings. The Reds drafted him thinking he might fit best as a setup man or closer, but he’ll probably get a chance to make it as a starter if he remains successful in the minors.
