Braves signed 2B Tyler Krieger to a minor league contract.
Krieger will provide the Braves with some organizational infield depth this season. The 28-year-old infielder was released by the White Sox earlier this month and quickly latched on with the defending World Series champions. He hit just .169/.223/.238 with two homers in 184 plate appearances over 60 games at Triple-A Columbus last season in Cleveland’s minor league system.

White Sox released 2B Tyler Krieger.
Krieger signed a minor league deal with the White Sox back in February and will head back out to attempt to latch on with a new organization as extra infield depth. The light-hitting 28-year-old infielder hasn’t reached the majors since being drafted in the fourth round back in 2015.

White Sox signed 2B Tyler Krieger to a minor league contract.
Krieger, a former fourth-round selection by Cleveland back in 2015, spent the last seven years in their minor-league system. He hit just .169/.223/.238 with two homers in 184 plate appearances over 60 games at Triple-A Columbus last season. The 28-year-old offers some defensive versatility, but his struggles at the plate have prevented him from reaching the majors. He’ll give the White Sox some additional minor-league infield depth this season.

Indians prospect Tyler Krieger picked up four hits for Double-A Akron on Wednesday.
One of those hits was a homer, Krieger’s first of the season. You shouldn’t expect many homers from the 2015 fourth-round selection, but there should be more multi-hit games. Krieger has a smooth, line-drive stroke from both sides of the plate, and he uses the entire field. He’s also an above-average runner, and 15-plus steals are within reach. If you’re looking for an under-the-radar second base prospect, Krieger fits that mold.

Indians prospect Tyler Krieger picked up four doubles on Wednesday for Double-A Akron.
On top of the doubles, Krieger also scored three runs, walked twice and knocked in a run. Yes, it was a doubleheader, but that’s still a heck of a day for any prospect in any amount of games. Krieger has excellent feel for the barrel, and while the numbers don’t quite show it in 2017, he has a chance for a plus hit tool. Expect more multi-hit games going forward.

Indians 2B prospect Tyler Krieger exploded for five hits Saturday in a win for Low-A Lake County.
He also contributed two steals, four runs and two RBI. Krieger has been a rockstar this year, hitting .368 with a .456 on base percentage. He leads the South Atlantic League with 18 runs scored. Saturday was only the 22-year-old’s 15th minor league appearance. The 2015 fourth-round pick has now hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games.
