Phillies selected outfielder Victor Hall from the Yankees in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft.
Hall was selected in the major league phase of the Rule 5 draft by the Astros in 2003, but he was returned to the Diamondbacks at the end of March and hadn’t really been heard from since. While he hit .320/.406/.453 last season, he did so as a 25-year-old in the Florida State League. The Phillies will put him in Double- or Triple-A.
