Suero, who debuted with the Nationals back in 2018, spent time in the Braves and Mets pen last season, though he gave up eight earned runs in 5 1/3 innings for Atlanta and never actually made an appearance in two brief stints with the Mets. He has a 4.96 ERA in 196 career major league appearances, all of them coming in relief.

Suero heads to the open market after refusing a late-September outright minor league assignment. The well-traveled 34-year-old reliever didn’t end up making an appearance for the Mets but did get into five games earlier this season for Atlanta.

Suero figures to stick around with New York as emergency organizational depth. The 34-year-old righty made five appearances earlier this season for Atlanta. He was designated for assignment over the weekend after spending roughly 48 hours as part of the Mets’ bullpen mix.

Suero has been jettisoned from New York’s relief mix as the club continues re-shuffling its late-season bullpen. The 34-year-old veteran hurler has made five appearances this season in the big leagues.

Suero was claimed off waivers from the Braves on Sept. 4, but did not pitch for the Mets before being sent to Triple-A and then designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Jose Siri. Suero is now back on the 40-man and in the big leagues for the Mets, but he has an 11.37 ERA in 6 1/3 MLB innings this year.

Suero was DFA’d on Tuesday. He hasn’t appeared in a game for the Mets this season. He had an 11.37 ERA in five appearances for the Braves before the Mets claimed him off waivers.

Suero, who was already in Triple-A, is now off the 40-man roster to make room for Jose Siri. He didn’t get into a game for the Mets during a brief stint on the major league roster last week.

Suero didn’t end up making an appearance for the Mets after being claimed off waivers from Atlanta earlier this week. The 33-year-old righty will remain stationed on the doorstep of the majors as emergency depth.

Waiver claim Wander Suero takes his spot on the roster, though he might only be up for two days before Brandon Sproat debuts on Sunday. The Mets needed Senga’s permission to send him down and obviously got it. He still possesses an excellent 3.02 ERA for the season, but in eight second half starts, he had a 6.56 ERA and 22 walks in 35 2/3 innings. Ideally, he’ll get things ironed out and return as a postseason contributor for the Mets.

He still has an option year, so the Mets could keep him in Triple-A as bullpen insurance.
