Mets signed RHP Wanel Mesa to a minor league contract.
The 27-year-old right-hander spent five seasons in the Nationals organization before his release in 2010, failing to make it past Single-A ball. He’s spent the past two seasons playing independent ball, posting a 9.45 ERA with Bridgeport in 2012.
