Braves sent LHP Yean Carlos Gil outright to High-A Carolina.
The move takes the 24-year-old hurler off the 40-man roster. His career path has been slowed by his Tommy John surgery in 2012 and he has struggled mightily with a 6.84 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 37/15 K/BB ratio over 51 1/3 innings at Carolina.

Braves released LHP Yean Carlos Gil.
Gil was removed from the Braves’ 40-man roster last season and is now out of the organization altogether. The 25-year-old has yet to get past A-ball.

Braves purchased the contract of LHP Yean Carlos Gil from Low-A Rome.
Gil hasn’t progressed past A ball, so the move is largely procedural. The 23-year-old had a 3.35 ERA and 93/26 K/BB ratio over 126 1/3 innings this past season with Rome.
