Supercross’ E race debut highlights NBCSN’s virtual racing Saturday

A group of 14 racers will showcase their gaming skills as they use the Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 3 to compete at virtual Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Saturday, May 16 beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET.

NBCSN will present a tripleheader of virtual racing Saturday afternoon, highlighted by Monster Energy Supercross’ first official E SX event.

The race at 4:30 p.m. ET will feature 14 riders competing at virtual Angel Stadium (on the layout from 2019 season opener) in the 450SX and 250SX classes in the “Monster Energy Supercross – Official Video Game 3.”

Points leader Eli Tomac and second-ranked Ken Roczen will provide commentary during the event, which will feature riders Adam Cianciarulo and Marvin Musquin, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, in 450 and Justin Cooper and RJ Hampshire in 250.

Veteran play-by-play commentator Leigh Diffey, five-time Supercross champion and seven-time Motocross champion Ricky Carmichael and host and former racer Daniel Blair will call the action for the 90-minute event.

Also on tap Saturday for NBCSN:

--The 2:30 p.m. ET debut of the Drone Racing League’s eight-race FanDuel DRL SIM Racing Cup with 12 pilots flying on drone racing simulators.

--At 3:30 p.m., there’ll be a replay of MotoGP’s Virtual Grand Prix of Spain. The virtual grand prix will be contested for the first time using the offiical MotoGP ’20 video game.
