Dirt track phenom Bobby Pierce will be pretty busy in May.
Pierce, 19, of Oakwood, Illinois, will compete in three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races for MB Motorsports, behind the wheel of the No. 63 Chevrolet Silverado.
The three races will be the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway on (May 6), Dover 200 at Dover International Speedway (May 13) and the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 20).
This will be the second straight year Pierce has competed in the Truck Series. Last year, he won the pole for the dirt race at Eldora and then finished second in the main event that evening.
Then last fall, he finished 22nd at Martinsville and 16th at Phoenix.
“Bobby is, without a doubt, one of the most talented drivers racing today,” MB Motorsports owner Mike Mittler said in a media release. “We had a successful first race together last year at Eldora.
“… (Pierce) almost came home with the win, coming in a close 2nd in his NASCAR debut. It was great night for Bobby and our team.”
Pierce is a two-time and defending DIRTcar UMP Late Model National Champion, as well as the 2015 DIRTcar UMP Summer Nationals Champion, He has over 130 total career feature wins in numerous regional and national touring series, numerous track championships, as well as winning the 2013 Champion Spark Plugs Search for a Champion.
Pierce and Mittler are still working on sponsorship for the three races.
“I’m excited to be back with Mike and all the guys at MB Motorsports,” says Pierce. “We’re set to run the three races in May, but we still need marketing partners to join us.”
