Sheila Elliott, wife of NASCAR engine builder Ernie Elliott, back in jail
Sheila Elliott is back in custody after violating conditions of her release from a March 18 incident where she allegedly tried to run over her husband, noted NASCAR engine builder Ernie Elliott.
According to the Dawson News, Sheila Elliott, 63, was arrested June 2 for violating a court order that allowed her release.
She had been originally arrested for aggravated assault on her husband, when she allegedly attempted to hit him with her 2004 Mercedes at Ernie Elliott’s shop/garage in Dawsonville, Ga.
Ernie Elliott was not injured in the incident, according to sheriff’s officials.
Sheila Elliott was originally released on May 12 after signing a consent bond that allowed her to leave jail on her own recognizance, but with the stipulation that she enter a residential treatment facility in Atlanta.
On June 1, Sheila Elliott told officials that she intended to leave the facility, even though that would violate her release order. She was taken into custody the next day by Dawson County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office officials, and her bond was revoked.
She is back in custody in Dawson County jail in Dawsonville.
Sheila Elliott is the sister-in-law of NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott and aunt of defending Xfinity Series champion Chase Elliott.
