    Colts signed S Nasir Adderley.
Adderley, who unretired this offseason in what would be his age-29 season, was last seen posting a 62.2 PFF grade for the 2022 Chargers. It would be a major upset if he won a real role on the Colts given the long layoff, but it’s certainly possible he makes the roster.

Former Chargers S Nasir Adderley announced on Instagram that he plans to unretire and return next season.
Adderley was a second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2019 and surprised everyone with his decision to retire in 2023. Now, Adderley announced on his social media that he plans to attempt a comeback in 2026. Adderley will be 29 at the start of next season and totaled 232 tackles, three interceptions, and 12 pass breakups over 50 games in his career. He was a free agent at the time of his announcement and will be free to sign with any team willing to take a shot on him this offseason. Given his lengthy absence, Adderley will likely need to sign a one-year prove-it deal to join a team, but he was a quality starter who could be of interest to several teams if he’s able to return to form.

Chargers CB Nasir Adderley announced in an Instagram post that he has retired after four seasons.
Adderley writes in his post, “Over the past couple of years I have denied this realization, but I’m finally going to put myself first for once. My health is above anything and everyone around me knows that.” After playing four seasons in the NFL, Adderley, 25, is ready to hang it up. The former second-round pick started 44 games for the Chargers over the last three seasons, totaling 232 tackles, and three interceptions while breaking up 12 passes. Adderley was an unrestricted free agent at the time he announced his retirement.

  • Chargers placed CB Chris Harris on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Harris was joined by safety Nasir Adderley. Chargers coach Brandon Staley has already ruled both players out. That’s two starting members of LA’s secondary gone for Week 17. Luckily for the Chargers, they face either Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater this week. Neither passer figures to pick them apart despite the absences.

Chargers placed S Nasir Adderley (hamstring) on injured reserve.
Another hit to an already injured Chargers defense. Adderley has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury and the Bolts have opted to give him the proper time to let it heal up. In a corresponding move, the Chargers have activated OT Russell Okung to the active roster. Week 8 will be Okung’s 2019 debut.

Chargers second-round S Nasir Adderley (hamstring) will participate in rookie minicamp.
Adderley is recovered from the hamstring he injured at his Pro Day. It was a never a long-term concern, but this confirms he won’t miss any offseason reps. The Chargers have the makings for one of the better safety tandems in the league with Adderley and Derwin James.

Chargers selected Delaware S Nasir Adderley with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Adderley (6’0/206) -- a distant relative of Packers Hall Fame CB Herb Adderley -- flipped from corner to safety as a junior Blue Hen and earned first-team FCS All-American in 2018, graduating with 11 INTs and 15.5 tackles for loss as a 45-game starter. PFF College credited Adderley with a minuscule 9.4 passer rating when targeted as a senior. Adderley was limited this offseason by ankle and hamstring tweaks, but he crushed the vertical (38") and broad (10’9") jumps, and his tape reveals a potentially special centerfield safety with elite downfield ball skills, cornerback hips and feet, and safety toughness.
