“I like Aaron. He’s a guy we can count on,” coach Mike Montgomery said. “But do we want him out there for 38 minutes? Not yet. We have some other guys we’d rather have out there.” Derek Fisher will start at the point, and Mike Dunleavy can run the show at times too.

Robinson averaged 0.7 points in three preseason games, and Miles only appeared in one game.

They were training camp invitees, but never had much of a shot at making the team.

With Baron Davis healthy this year, there was no use for Miles. If something goes wrong with BD, he could be back at some point.

Miles is expected to make a full recovery within two weeks. Portland is still looking for another backup point guard to add to their roster before the regular season tips off.

The smallish point guard out of Kansas hasn’t played in an NBA game since 2006. The Warriors roster now stands at 15.

Gaines, Aaron Miles, Curtis Jerrells, and Trey Johnson were among the hopefuls, and the winner could get pressed into some action with Sebastian Telfair the only real PG on the roster. Regardless, none of them are capable of having fantasy value so stay away.

The loser should head to Europe. Actually, the winner probably should too. The Warriors could end up saving money by just rolling with 14 guys instead of the 15 the NBA allows.
