Antonio Davis suffered a mild concussion and bruised jaw in Saturday’s victory over Indiana.
He will require follow-up tests today to determine if his jaw is broken. The concussion should not cause him to miss much time, but a broken jaw could. Tyson Chandler and Othella Harrington would see increased minutes if he’ll miss any games.

  • The Raptors are considering shutting down Antonio Davis for the rest of the season.
Davis will miss another game tonight with a strained groin.
  • X-rays on Antonio Davis’ jaw were negative.
Davis is listed as questionable for tonight’s game.
  • After missing two games with a right hip pointer, Antonio Davis practiced and is expected to play Wednesday.
Coach Scott Skiles could opt to keep Othella Harrington, who has been hot, in the starting lineup for the moment. The only thing we know for sure is Tyson Chandler will come off the bench.
  • Antonio Davis missed practice yesterday with a virus, but is expected to play today.
Coach Scott Skiles may still opt to start Othella Harrington, who practiced with the first-teamers this week, in Davis’ place.
  • With the three-way deal between the Raptors, Nets and Blazers apparently dead, Toronto is talking to Boston about an Antonio Davis swap.
The Raptors would send Davis to Boston for Tony Battie and Eric Williams, but it doesn’t appear the Celtics want to take on the salary. Davis had been rumored to be going to Portland in a three-team deal that would have sent Dikembe Mutombo to Toronto, Rasheed Wallace to New Jersey and Kenyon Martin to Portland.
  • The Bulls’ coaching staff is worried about nagging injuries to Antonio Davis’ finger on his shooting hand as well as soreness in his shoulder and knee.
“It’s mind over matter,” said Davis, who went for 17 points and four rebounds Wednesday. “Don’t think about it. Go out there and once you get warmed up, it’ll go away. I don’t like to complain. I like to go out there and get my job done.”
  • Antonio Davis won’t play in Wednesday’s season finale because of a sprained knee.
Marcus Fizer will get a chance to fill in for him again.
  • Antonio Davis is limping with a sore knee, but the Bulls aren’t certain how banged up he is.
Davis continues to play through pain and is determined to make a good showing to stay with the Bulls since his family lives in the Chicago suburbs. This makes it difficult to determine the extent of his injuries. One thing is certain -- it would benefit everyone if the Bulls could cut Davis’ minutes from 31 to about 25, but that can only happen if Eddy Curry can show he is reliable.
  • Othella Harrington is expected to start again for forward Antonio Davis, who sat out practice with a sore back.
Davis is day-to-day. Tyson Chandler, for his part, isn’t upset about not starting, especially since he usually plays the entire fourth quarter.
