Bickerstaff said point guard Brevin Knight, who sprained his right ankle Friday, would start tonight after two good practices.
Knight, who won the starting job from Jason Hart, has the potential to rack up some assists.

Brevin Knight was sandwiched by Orlando’s Stacey Augmon and Cuttino Mobley near the end of Saturday’s game and did not return with an injured left wrist.
When first asked, Knight told reporters he couldn’t discuss the injury, but he later wiggled his hand back and forth and announced it was just sprained. “It’s not broke. When’s the next game? Wednesday? I’ll be ready to play.” Doesn’t sound like a medical opinion to us and we’d bet Jason Hart will see more minutes at point guard next week because of Knight’s gimpy wrist.

Brevin Knight is questionable for Wednesday’s game with a sprained wrist.
Jason Hart and Eddie House would start in the backcourt for Charlotte.

Tonight’s matchup between the Bobcats and Suns features the top two assist men in the league.
Steve Nash leads the league at 10.9 per game, with Brevin Knight second at 9.7. Knight has been fantasy gold in Charlotte. He leads the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 5.04-to-1, and picks up 2.0 steals per game. The irony here is that his stats are remarkably similar to his rookie year of 1997-98 with Cleveland when he played in 80 games, starting 76, but nobody has given him more than 65 games or 46 starts since then.

Brevin Knight missed his fourth straight game Thursday with a sprained left ankle and is doubtful for tonight.
He’s hoping to return Sunday, saying he’s currently having trouble changing directions.

Brevin Knight, who has missed five games with a sprained ankle, said he’s “optimistic” he’ll play Sunday against the Lakers.
Even though the team has played well with Jason Hart at the point, coach Bernie Bickerstaff said “it’s an illusion. A grand illusion.” In other words, don’t expect Knight to lose his job or too many minutes.

The Bobcats are calling Brevin Knight “very questionable” for Friday’s game.
Knight is day-to-day after leaving Wednesday’s game in the first quarter with an ankle injury. He left the arena on crutches last night.

Brevin Knight said he’d be surprised if his sprained left ankle is well enough to play Tuesday.
Knight should be kept reserved this week. Jason Hart has played very well in his absence.

A league source told The Arizona Republic that the Suns and Celtics have discussed a deal that would send Tony Battie to Phoenix, possibly for Brevin Knight.
Lots of rumors surrounding Battie this week, indicating that Danny Ainge is either afraid of Battie’s knees, or the Celtics’ choices at the point, or both. Battie would be a good fit in Phoenix, where the Suns are short on rebounders.

Brevin Knight (elbow) ''practically guaranteed’’ he would be available for Friday’s game.
Knight left Wednesday’s game with a bruised left elbow. Swelling in the joint could keep him out of action.
