    Hornets sign G Brian Roberts.
Roberts is 26 years old and played in Germany last season, where he won a title with Bamberg while averaging 8.6 points and 2.2 assists in 25 minutes per game. He’s not certain to make the regular season roster, and those averages from Germany should be enough to scare away fantasy owners.

Brian Roberts logged 19 minutes off the bench on Saturday despite being questionable to play with an unspecified illness.
Roberts scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting, and remains a non-entity in standard-sized fantasy leagues.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Brian Roberts (illness) will not play vs. Thunder on Saturday.
The Hornets’ backup point guard is averaging 12.3 points over the past three games, but he doesn’t get enough minutes or do enough across the board to warrant fantasy attention in average formats.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Hornets backup PG Brian Roberts took advantage of garbage minutes on Sunday to score 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, with five assists and zero turnovers.
Roberts logged 23 minutes tonight but won’t surface with reliable value as long as Greivis Vasquez is healthy.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Hornets guard Brian Roberts is “making a case for minutes,” according to coach Monty Williams.
Roberts has been a pleasant surprise this preseason, filling in capably while the Hornets dance around Eric Gordon’s absence in the backcourt. His odds of making the team are improving on a daily basis.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Brian Roberts received 21 minutes off the bench and had 13 points, two assists and three 3-pointers against the Knicks on Tuesday.
Garbage time was a factor, but Roberts has looked solid in his limited time on the court during the season as well as during the preseason. Even though Greivis Vasquez is struggling shooting the ball, Roberts is not even close to being a threat to start.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Backup PG Brian Roberts surprised on Friday with 16 points and eight assists, hitting 7-of-8 shots (including a three) in 30 minutes off the bench.
Roberts benefited from Greivis Vasquez’s struggles tonight, but we doubt Vasquez is going to go 1-for-10 from the field all that much, nor is Roberts going to be nearly perfect. The Hornets aren’t a deep team, so theoretically there is room to improve, but barring an unlikely face-plant from Vasquez he’s going to have a hard time accumulating real fantasy value.
  • BKN Point Guard #21
Greivis Vasquez left Wednesday’s game with what appears to be a sprained right ankle.
He was taken out from the game and replaced by Brian Roberts. He got his ankle taped up and has returned to the game.
  • CHA Point Guard #22
Backup point guard Brian Roberts led the Hornets with 17 points on Sunday, 12 of which came in the fourth quarter.
He’s just trying to make the team, but is also turning heads in the process. With Greivis Vasquez and Austin Rivers around, it’s hard to imagine Roberts making a fantasy impact, but if he continues to play well in the preseason, he’ll at least be worth keeping an eye on.
  • BKN Point Guard #21
Greivis Vasquez had surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle on Friday.
He will begin his rehab immediately and should be ready to go for the start of next season. Vasquez’s ankle cost him the last two games of the season and he missed some time with left ankle issues in March, as well. No player had more than GV’s 704 assists in the regular season and he should be the starter next season even though Brian Roberts had a strong second half.
