The Nets are eager to get him back, as they lack depth in the frontcourt.

Not just doubtful, “very doubtful.” Nenad Krstic and Jason Collins are bound for heavy minutes again.

The procedure could put Scalabrine out for most of the remainder of the season, further hurting the New Jersey frontcourt.

Once he gets the go-ahead, Scalabrine thinks he can return within a week.

Scalabrine has a partially torn meniscus and is out indefinitely. There was some speculation he would opt for surgery in order to be ready if the Nets made the playoffs.

He went on the IL yesterday with what was thought to be a bruised knee. Surgery hasn’t been ruled out.

That may seem quite optimistic for someone who underwent knee surgery on the 10th, but the estimates -- assuming doctors found no further damage -- were for him to miss three weeks, so that’s close to the timetable. Scalabrine won’t have any fantasy value, but could help the Nets.

Shouldn’t make much of a difference in fantasy leagues.

Scalabrine remains day-to-day.
